Great Western Railway (GWR) will be introducing a new, later Sunday train for the Summer on the Plymouth to Gunnislake Tamar Valley Line on Sunday 21 May. The train will leave Plymouth at 2001, arriving at Gunnislake at 2047. The return service will leave Gunnislake at 2050 and arrive at Plymouth at 2135.
Great Western Railway (GWR) will introduce an improved timetable on the Truro to Falmouth Maritime Line from Sunday 21 May. On Mondays to Fridays, the last train on the line will run more than half an hour later. GWR has announced its latest one-off charter train in aid of charity, this time taking passengers on a special journey from London Paddington to Somerset. The train will have special poignancy as it will be celebrating the life of Bob Smart previous visit Somerset chairman who died on the 12th May 2016 after a short illness.
A memorial plaque commemorating Penguin Books founder Sir Allen Lane has been unveiled today at Exeter St David’s railway station. Attention London Marathon runners - Disruption to rail services between Reading and London Paddington Sunday 23 April
Passengers travelling on services between Reading and London Paddington on the morning of the London Marathon, Sunday 23 April, should check before they travel and plan their journeys to start after 0900 where possible. Network Rail will undertake vital electrification work between Reading and Hayes & Harlington. Great Western Railway will operate bus replacement services between Reading and London Paddington until 0900. Where possible customers are advised to travel after 0900 or check before they travel and use the alternative routes provided. Passengers with tickets for Sunday morning will be able to travel on any service Sunday afternoon/evening.
