Popular South Bristol station reaches 90th birthday
Parson Street station has celebrated its 90th anniversary with a special, free family event on Sunday 3 September. Visitors were able to see the Torbay Express steam train pass through the station at 0920, and watch the unveiling of a special commemorative plaque about the station’s history.

Prime Minister, Theresa May, officially opened a new £4.5million railway siding in her constituency of Maidenhead this morning, which will see Great Western Railway increase the number of electric, peak time trains. 300 extra cycle parking spaces to be introduced at Newbury Station by Great Western Railway
Over £1.6 million allocated to improve cycle facilities at three stations. Funding will see the creation of more than 1,000 extra cycle storage spaces. Great Western Railway (GWR) has welcomed the Department for Transport’s announcement that alongside local contributions will see over £1.6 million committed to further improve cycling facilities at three stations on its network.
