Wales v New Zealand, Autumn International: Travel advice
Travelling to Cardiff’s Principality Stadium this weekend?
GWR is to run 11 extra trains, providing over 5,500 extra seats, this Saturday to support fans travelling to Cardiff’s Principality Stadium to watch Wales v New Zealand.
To allow time to board trains safely and to enter the ground, supporters are being warned to plan ahead and to travel early.
Additional services are being provided between Westbury and Cardiff (via Bristol) between Swindon and Cardiff, and between Swansea and Cardiff but passengers are warned that services will be in demand during peak arrival and departure times, and engineering work will affect journeys from further afield.
GWR Development Manager Wales Mark Youngman said:
“Our helpful and friendly staff will be on hand to help keep people moving, but I would urge customers to allow time to reach and enter the stadium, and with Cardiff Station likely to be busy a queuing system will be in place for those returning home after the game.”
London Paddington to Bristol Parkway/South Wales services will run on a diversionary route adding approximately an hour to journey times, as Network Rail renew track between Didcot and Swindon in preparation for our new Electrostar trains at Didcot Parkway station. Bus replacement services operating between Reading and Didcot Parkway/Swindon.
