Former England International and Bath Rugby player David Flatman has today announced his favourite to win this weekend’s Six Nation’s clash at Cardiff’s Principality Stadium in a video preview of the games ahead.

Part of a series of videos to be released by Great Western Railway, the preview also provides key travel advice for those lucky enough to see the game live from the Stadium:

• New security checks in place at the stadium – plan to arrive three hours before kick-off
• A queuing system will be in place at Cardiff Station following the game
• Extra trains will be running – Please check for your last train home

Mighty Wales take on Scotland at Cardiff’s Principality Stadium at 16.50 on Saturday 13 February and 14 additional trains are being provided by GWR to carry fans to and from the game.

Extra trains have been lined up to take passengers home again after the game, and six trains will travel east within the first hour of the final whistle, and four GWR services to Swansea - but those travelling are warned that a new queuing system will be in place to allow trains to be boarded safely and efficiently.

The last direct train to London will depart at 2025; and the last non-direct (with a change at Bristol Temple Meads) at 2103.

Additional trains are also provided to take passengers to Cardiff. Passengers are also warned to travel early and soak up the atmosphere before the games start, and are reminded that a bag search will now be in operation at the Stadium.

The earliest train to Cardiff from London Paddington departs at 0737; from Bristol Parkway at 0711; and from Bristol Temple Meads at 0645.

GWR Development Manager Wales Mark Youngman said:

“While we have provided additional capacity to meet demand, an amended post-match queueing system will be in place to help passengers board their train home safely.”

Some Cardiff Central station car parks will be closed prior to and during the games and Cardiff Queen Street will close just before the end of the match.
