Save over 30% on Oxfordshire to London fares with Great Western Railway

Great Western Railway (GWR) has today introduced a new Off-Peak return fare from Banbury to London Paddington, allowing customers to save £13.50 and still be in London by 10:30.

Cheaper Off-Peak return fares for customers travelling via Reading

Great Western Railway (GWR) has today introduced a new Off-Peak return fare from Banbury to London Paddington, allowing customers to save £13.50 and still be in London by 10:30.

The current ‘Any Permitted Route’ Off-Peak ticket, which is valid via the Chiltern mainline costs £40.50. GWR has introduced a £27 via Reading fare, enabling cheaper but slightly longer (10 minutes) journeys, saving over 30% on the ‘Any Permitted Route’ fare.

With this ticket customers get a cheaper rate at an earlier time; departing on the 08:55 Cross Country service from Banbury to Reading, then changing for a non-stop GWR train to London Paddington – arriving into the capital at 10:23.

GWR Head of Communications Dan Panes said:

“As we go through network-wide transformation, we want to benefit every region that we serve.

“Reducing these off-peak fares is a real win-win for customers who can travel earlier and for less money. With regular services from Reading to London Paddington, including our new Intercity Express Trains – and from early 2018 our new Electrostars, it means journeys to the capital are still easy and convenient.“
