Train operator First Great Western has today [Monday 4 November] re-launched its multimillion pound campaign to promote leisure travel across the South West.

Focusing on crisp coastal walks, Christmas markets and idyllic countryside escapes on the Great Western network, the campaign will run between November and December.

First Great Western Head of Marketing Philip Edgerton said:

“We at First Great Western are extremely lucky to have the region that we serve. Not only do we have some of the most beautiful coastline in the country, but we also have some of its most vibrant cities.

“What better way to prepare for your Christmas shopping crusade, or weekend away from hustle and bustle, than to jump on board a train, relax, let us keep you moving and help create some magical seasonal memories.”

Created by Edinburgh based The Leith Agency, the 10 stunning visuals and radio adverts draw on the romanticism of wintry days out and weekends away.

The visual campaign will appear on billboards, at stations, on the underground, in the press, as well as online, while the radio advert will be played across London stations, stating:

“I love the beach in winter, the crunch of frosty sand,
“Layers of knit wear, a low winter sun and the cold air on my face.

“Then we hit the high street in Truro and start feeling festive in no time,
“As the fairy lights twinkle, we hunt for pressies in the Christmas market.

“Then pile indoors for some mulled wine to warm us up. And all of this is just a train ride away. “Well, it is if you’re a Great Westerner.”
