First Great Western (FGW) has announced the return of its popular Frame Your Train competition, giving people the chance to win one of two pairs of standard class, return train tickets for use anywhere on its network.

To be in with a chance of winning, passengers are being encouraged to snap a view from the window during train journeys between November 10th and December 1st and upload the image to Instagram using #FGWFrameYourTrain, as well as a hashtag of the rough location, e.g. #Bristol.

Entries will be placed on to an interactive photomap and featured in a gallery on the competition site.

Creativity is encouraged as all photos will be viewed by guest judges, who will pick the winners. Experience Oxfordshire Digital Marketing Executive Felicity Robilliard will oversee week one, while Editor of visitbristol.co.uk Laura Valentine is covering the second week.

Commenting on the competition, Philip Edgerton, Head of Marketing at First Great Western, said: "We at First Great Western are extremely lucky to have the region that we serve. Not only do we have some of the most beautiful coastline in the country, but we also have some of its most vibrant cities. This competition helps showcase our passengers' favourite views from the Great Western network, and helps to remind people of some of the beautiful attractions available on our own doorstep.

“What better way to begin a holiday, or a weekend away from hustle and bustle, than to jump on board a train, relax, enjoy the beautiful scenery, and let us help to keep you moving?”

The campaign was previously run with great success over a four-week period earlier in the year, with a number of stunning entries showing off the great views and fantastic scenery along FGW routes across the South West.

Last time around a flood of entries were received, with Devon, Cornwall, Bristol and Bath all proving popular areas to take photos. Although, as the interactive photo map and video round-up of some of the best images submitted show, people got creative with their smartphone camera in plenty of other places too.

The first weekly winner was @mandycphoto, with a stunning photo of boats on the water in Starcross, followed by @conrad76johnson in week two with a lovely snap of mist on some fields near Bristol. @hels2112 impressed with a great shot of the sun setting over St Germans, Cornwall, in week three, while @meeladle’s image of Red Arrows in flight at Dawlish Air Show saw them bag the final weekly prize.

It just shows the range of sights you can spy from a FGW train window and hopefully the second round of the competition will showcase even more great places.
