Discounted shopping made easier for FGW passengers
First Great Western has a new, specially branded train aimed at encouraging shoppers to visit the Gunwharf Quays premium retail outlet in Portsmouth.
First Great Western has a new, specially branded train aimed at encouraging shoppers to visit the Gunwharf Quays premium retail outlet in Portsmouth.
The Gunwharf Quays ‘wrapped’ train came into service recently on and those on board were surprised to receive a free shopping Privilege Pass, allowing them further discounts at the centre.
First Great Western General Manager East Rob Smith said:
“First Great Western is committed to supporting the communities it serves and what better way to do that at this time of year than by helping passengers make the most of a day out to the shops.”
The hourly service operates between Cardiff, South Wales; Bristol and Wiltshire before making its way to Portsmouth via Southampton. Gunwharf Quays is adjacent to the station at Portsmouth Harbour.
With over 90 stores where you can pick up high-end fashions for a fraction of the original price, Gunwharf Quays is a great place to shop. Each designer name offers a minimum 30 per cent discount on regular retailer prices rising to 60% off at certain times of year.
Speaking on behalf of Gunwharf Quays Joe Mclatchie said:
“We are delighted to partner with First Great Western to offer their passengers the opportunity to discover what Gunwharf Quays has to offer this winter and enjoy exclusive discounts at the same time. It is extremely easy to access the centre from the train station, so we hope it will encourage more people to visit us by rail.”
The Privilege Pass entitles the holder to additional savings of at least 10% off the outlet prices at many of the stores at Gunwharf Quays.
As part of the partnership, customer information posters and leaflets have also been placed at stations on route and customers. The promotion will run until March 2015.
