First Great Western is to run 11 additional trains to and from Cardiff this coming Saturday, to help spectators watch one of the deciding games of this year’s Six Nations.

Passengers warned that a queuing system will be in place at Cardiff for return services
Allow plenty of time to return to the station and to make onward connections

Five additional morning trains will help take fans to the Millennium Stadium for 14.30 (offering 2,500 additional seats), while there will also be an additional six services, providing almost 3,000 extra seats, to take supporters home after the crunch match. 

Additional services between London and Cardiff, Bristol and Cardiff and between Swansea and Cardiff will operate.

First Great Western Development Manager Mark Youngman said:

"We are delighted to announce 11 additional trains will be provided to help Wales fans get to and return from Cardiff’s Millennium Stadium, but customers are warned to allow plenty of time to return to the station as a queuing system will be necessary to help passengers board trains safely.
“Those travelling from further afield are advised to check the time of the last service to ensure onward connections are not missed."

  • From London Paddington (calling at Bristol Parkway at 11.45) at 10.15
  • From Swansea at 10.22
  • From Port Talbot Parkway at 12.22
