GWR to host ‘Platform to Perform’ events across the network

Great Western Railway will host a series of live music events at stations across the network as part of BBC Music Day on Friday 28 September 2018.

Didcot Parkway station in Oxfordshire as well as Exeter and Cheltenham stations on the GWR network will be showcasing local performers.

Participants of all abilities from Oxfordshire charity Soundabout will be joined by the Jericho Singers for a relaxed ‘jamming session’ on Didcot Parkway station.

Clare Cook from Soundabout, said: “It’s absolutely brilliant and extremely heartening that BBC Music Day and GWR are supporting inclusive music making on this important day. What better way to celebrate the power of music! We also wanted to say a big thank you to the Steph Pirrie and the Jericho singers for joining us to create this very special moment.”

Soundabout works with children and young people with severe and complex disabilities to express themselves through music.
