You can watch some great timelapse footage of the train being wrapped here

The High Speed Train Power Car will be in service from Saturday 11 June 2016 travelling the length of the Great Western Main Line as the celebrations take place across our region.

A specialist team ‘wrapped’ the train in a day at GWR’s Laira Depot in Plymouth and it carries images of the flying flags of the Royal Standard and the Union.

Colin Page, Depot Manager of Laira said:

“We are really pleased and honoured that one of our locomotives will be part of the Queen’s birthday celebrations. The guys at the depot have done a fantastic job of preparing the locomotive and the results speak for themselves. It looks fantastic.”

With the train operating up to four routes daily, this will provide as many as 2,000 people every day the opportunity to travel on board. GWR High Speed Trains cover 750 miles a day on average, serving South Wales, the West of England, the Cotswolds, as well as the South West.

Along with the rest of the country, GWR wish Her Majesty the Queen a very happy birthday.
