Earlier this year we announced our plans for the biggest fleet upgrade in a generation, with new or more modern trains across the whole network delivering faster, more frequent journeys and millions more seats a year - all of this is entirely dependent on Network Rail delivering the electrification programme. The last thing our customers want is for new trains to be consigned to the sidings while this work is completed, and we are glad the Government and Network Rail is being open and honest about the challenges it faces.
