Emergency engineering work at Bath Spa successfully completed

Following emergency engineering work between 1215 and 1330 services through Bath Spa are returning to normal.

An all line block was taken by Network Rail at 1215 to repair damaged points near Oldfield Park, which was causing further disruption to an already reduced service during modernisation work to the station.

Trains will run as timetabled from 1330 and in time for the evening peak, however there may be some short notice alterations to early afternoon services.  

Bath Spa station is currently undergoing modernisation work to make way for the arrival of a fleet of new, longer Intercity Express Trains which will enter service later this year; and only one platform is available to use during the periods of work.

The works, due to complete on Sunday 23 April, are currently on target to finish on time.
